Doucet may not have caught the ball but since he was knocked away from the ball before it was tipped we'll never know. But I can say with some certainty that LaFell would have caught that pass for a TD had he not been raped by Irons and that overturning the correct call on the field on Hester's catch and subsequent fumble out of bounds is indefensible.
Anyone else see a trend of the officials interferring when we play at Aubarn? I seem to remember 2 shots at an extra point in 04 on a lame a$$ call.
The very fact that the media, including this chum, feels it is necessary to defend or make less of the incident(s?) ( I saw several bad calls that ruined momentum ) tells me there must be something to it. the BESt way to say "we don't think you have a leg to stand on" is ignore the rumblings. You can tell him Tiger's dont whine, they take a big bite outta dat azz. See you next year in Death valley. What's going to be funny is if AU goes undefeated again this year and Ohio State and USC play for the BCS ..... deja vu? LOL I didn't laugh the first time cause I thought Au was robbed even after the goal line deal. BUt this time.... I might have to snicker a tad :hihi:
I didn't think about this until you said it. I predict a record breaking crowd and hopefully a night game. It will be insane. I was thinking the same thing. Something is fishy. First the phantom personal foul two years ago and now this. At least we give Auburn a fair shot when they come to Death Valley
No, we actually don't. Our swirling wind, according to CTT, makes it impossible to kick field goals. D'oh! John Vaughn is the best kicker in LSU history. (I had to say it.)
Red, I spend a lot of time on the AU Scout board as well. I think I go there for the same reason people watch train wrecks. It makes me hate Auburn, and I had two brothers go there. No board I have found is less tolerant of an opposing position. Right now, the fact that the SEC has spoken is enough for them. They don't want to hear anybody poke holes in what the SEC said. Just wait until the SEC explains something to them that doesn't make sense. Then, everyone will be out to get poor little Auburn, just like last week with GameDay not coming. Oh well, we'll get them next year. GEAUX TIGERS Thorny (AKA LSU Statman)
I think a game like this easily points out the flaws in officiating. Two evenly matched performances are going to expose the sometimes extremely flawed calls officials make. If we win by double digits, none of these flubbed calls get the run they are getting now. I still think it's possible the officials were on the take, but the likely explanation is that the closeness of the contest magnifies terrible calls.
