If he's never going to play again, isn't there some sort of "buyout rule" for players in that position? Am I thinking of the wrong sport? They've GOT to get rid of this guy. The thing that pisses me off is that he doesn't even want to sit on the end of the bench. He wants to "play" (NOT BASKETBALL) down in Miami. If the Hornets are paying him, I'd make his a$$ go to EVERY PRACTICE and show up for EVERY game. To be honest, I never thought of him as being a "big time" (read: Maximum Salary) guy to begin with. When Davis is healthy, he's "JUST" there, but certainly not one of the top 20 players in the game.
Davis is one of the top point gurads in the league when healthy. That may or may not be worthy of a max salary but he's that good. He's clearly the best player on the Hornets, as they beat a couple of good teams recently when he was in. Unfortunately he gets hurt too much.
