Divisional splits promise to keep the heart-fire burning. Once aTm settle in to a state border war with LSU, the contempt will intensify. As we speak, Arkansas is planning an invasion to T-Town, as if they were on some type of holy pilgrimage into the land of the infidel. Reminding them we finished 4th in the west only confuses them and changes nothing.

funny, as i've gotten older, my hate for bama has declined significantly since i was a kid. yeah sure, it got jacked back up a little when saban went there. but now that i've gotten used to that i can see clearly that LSU and bama are very similar in countless ways. even if bama has the worst uniforms ever, i'm sure they think ours are terrible as well and i'm cool with that. i respect the tide, and will say that they are growing on me.

but to stay on topic, tamu can suck it.

From what I gather, it's "little man's syndrome". Arkansas wants what everyone else has. Respect. Relevance. Titles. To be up there with the big boys year in and year out. Arkansas along with their fans suffer from penis envy.

I couldn't have said it better myself. We will soon have a real rival.

And I say this will go well toward balancing the "rivalry relationships" within the SEC. LSU seems to have been the "loner" of not really having a set in stone type rival each year. That type rivalry that isn't dictated on the records of the team or anything like that. But a rivalry rooted in pure dislike and competitiveness toward the other team and fanbase. And I think aTm can provide that type rivalry for LSU. One in which everyone thought Arkansas would provide for LSU when they entered the SEC. But it just hasn't developed into that. It is basically a one sided rivalry. Arkansas fans see LSU as "their biggest rival" yet LSU has to be reminded that Arkansas exist.

Here's the thing about that. If Florida is the best team in the East, and we DON'T play them in the regular season, there's a pretty good chance we play them in the SECCG, if we make it. If Florida is the best team in the East, and we DO play them in the regular season, the loser gets an SEC loss and is much less likely to make it to the SECCG. Either way, we have to beat them. You don't often see rematches in the championship game because if the two best teams play each other, one has to end up with a loss. Personally, I like playing Florida every year.
