The wife & I are going. Got a hotel in Union City, we'll park and catch MARTA somewhere between the airport and the Dome.

Me and my wife will be there. It is our first full day on our honeymoon. The best thing is it was her idea.

As a former Atlanta resident I wanted to share some of my favorite spots that I know are still open. No matter where you are in the city you will be close to one or more of these places.

    The Brickstore Pub
Simply the best beer selection of any bar. Ever. Don't go here looking for a Miller Lite or a Bud. This place serves high end beers mostly from Europe.

    Six Feet Under
Fried seafood. They do it better than anyone in Atlanta. The original location looks over an old cemetery on Memorial Blvd.

The Vortex Often voted the best burger in Atlanta. I like the Little Five Points Location.

    Kurts
German Beer. Food also. I had a client that was within walking distance to this place, and I had a number of liquid lunches.

Wahoo A little more upscale. A good place to take the lady.

Taco Mac -- Welcome! Lots of beer on tap. Lots of TVs Food isn't too great. They are located all over metro Atlanta.

Mobeta Wings - Decatur, GA, 30030 - Citysearch Great wings. I was a regular. It didnt hurt that I lived less than a block from them.

Thinking Man TavernAnother of my haunts. Good place to relax and play a board game. Always a lot of lesbians in there. WNBA kind.

The Independent - Booze. Bistro. Billiards. This was a hangout a lot of folks I work with enjoyed. Kind of an artsy crowd.

Hambones BBQ - Home My favorite pulled pork sandwich. A real hole in the wall.

Grecian Gyro - Home of Atlanta's Best Gyros since 1982 Great gyros. Very popular especially for a place in the ghetto. Be prepared to wait in a long line.

    | The Earl | Good place to hear some indy rock.

    Raging Burrito Good cheap eats.

    Bellas
My favorite pizza in Atlanta. Often wins the best pizza in Atlanta polls. I lived near the Smyrna location for 2 years, and ate there every Friday.
