President Obama has ordered a review of airport security screening amid questions about how a known extremist whose own father dropped a dime on him to U.S. security was able to board a U.S.-bound flight with explosives in his underpants.

"What the President has asked for as a result of this incident are two look-back reviews," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Sunday, appearing on ABC-TV's "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos.

"First, on our watch-listing procedures, did the government do everything that it could have with the information that they had?"
    ...
Gibbs also said the president wants the Department of Homeland Security to "answer they very real question about how somebody with something as dangerous as PETN [explosives] could have gotten onto a plane in Amsterdam."

for some stupid reason the system is set up to only review this guy when he tries to renew his visa. but i get that there are too many tips like these to follow up. the kid had no known terrorist connections. just a muslim student in yemen that didnt want to talk to his family anymore.

the real stupid thing is that the amsterdam airport has tons of millimeter (body image) screeners but are not allowed to use them on planes going to the US because women are worried about creepy guys in a back room looking at the shape of their a**.

So how does this get fixed? Does anyone else see the Federal Government taking over the Airports also?

how many people are on this terrorist watch list? This is important because if it's say 1,000, then these guys should have a special marking on their plane ticket and searched very throroughly. If it's 100,000, maybe that's not as easy.

Once again this just proves that the govt. can't manage anything.

And I never said they were not a threat. I said the way we are dealing with them is a nightmare and not only are we not hindering them but making the threat worse, hence this botched attempt.

Maybe if you or any of the other neo-cons actually attempted some rational/logical thought we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.

    Cause and Effect.

You bomb their country for 10+ years, You occupy their land, You impose sanctions on them

    =

    BLOWBACK

If you can't live with the outcome you shouldn't be advocating the actions.

Right. Because we were bombing their country for 10+ years before 9/11. And letting them get away with it would've made them just quit and go home...

How's the weather out there in La La Land?
