Maximus is a knee-high, 33 pound, 18 month old neutered beagle mix. He kind of looks like a fawn. Note the tail marking on the top edge of the picture--it's one of his distinctive features. He ran away from his new home last night, in the area between Gretna City Park, Belle Chasse Highway, and Gretna Boulevard. He's skittish around strangers, so if you see him he might be hard to catch.
Just making a post to move this back to the top... If you see him AND somehow manage to catch him, you could either take him to his vet (Carrollton Vet Hospital at 3500 Carrollton) or drive around the Gretna Blvd/Mason Street area where his new owners should have signs up by now.
Maximus update: There was an unconfirmed sighting on Redwood Drive in Harvey last night. We went out there to check it out, but we didn't see any dogs. Whatever dog that was--Max or not--took shelter somewhere because of the weather. I hope the poor fellow's indoors right now.
Bestbank... feel free to post this on the YOGWF... Good luck... http://www.sportsonly.com/boards/tulane/
Curly, thanx to you too-- I just heard there were 3 sightings today in the area of Gretna Junior High, on Gretna Blvd between Belle Chasse and Manhattan. I don't know whether to ask anyone around there to try to catch him because he's skittish around strangers and might run into the street to get away from them.
My parents and sister actually saw him last night and got within a half-block but didn't catch him. He was near a butcher shop at Gretna Blvd & Hero Drive.
