The young man has worked hard to get to the point where he is a starter at Auburn University. You can be very proud of this young man and I know you are. David Irons is a great kid, a real class player and a pure delight to be around. He was slotted to take over the starting CB position opposite Carlos Rogers. Torn ACL, likely a medical redshirt. Should be a full recovery provided the surgury goes well, but believe me he'll be missed on the Plains. Not sure who the other DB you mentioned might be. Courtney Denson, recruited originally as a QB was buried at #4 backup DB on the weakside and chose to leave the program today in seek of playing time. Carlos Rogers tweaked his knee, but remains at practice, no significant problem.
Yeah I think it was Denson I heard and yes, everything I ever heard on Irons is how solid a person he is and how hard he worked. pretty sad. his psyche has to take a hit.
Always hate to see injuries like this happen, especially to those who have worked hard to become a starter. Hope he is able to recover fully.
