How can Auburn nation expect to be good with all that you lost? You guys are in a bad way.... Be happy with 2nd, maybe 3rd in the west...
Auburn looked really good in spurts. The defense can get after it and the 2 receivers (the "O" guys) are very, very good, especially with YAC. Tre Smith would have transferred from LSU for playing time. Cox will be much better but the lack of a ground game will be Auburn's demise, unless the O-Line can keep the dogs off of the QB.
I like the outs a lot. Notice they usually are in deep squats when catching the ball. Helps to be able to explode out when the hit is coming. My biggest concern is Center. Ross is always playing hurt, and I don't know if Cope can carry the load. Both got smacked in the mouth, but kept getting up. As long as they do that I might cringe and get frustrated, but can't bad mouth them.
You basically summarized what I was going to post. One other thing, the D played well after a shaky start and kept the game closer than it could have been after all the TOs in the second half. I'll admit that I am at a loss for the rest of the season. Improvement will bring about wins. If not, it will be a long season.
I'm not so sure that Auburn will finish above Alabama. Right now, I would pick Alabama to beat Auburn this year. Georgia Tech is a good team, but not a team that Auburn should have lost to.
I was really expecting this Auburn team to be pretty good. Not great, but better than you'd think after having lost what they did in the draft. I thought their defense was going to be better than that. It returned alot of starters, so early season jitters shouldn't be an excuse. People expected this defense to carry the team until the offense started clicking, but they had better grow up in a hurry to be able to support this team. Cox was about what I expected out of him. Over hyped by AU fans. The running game was about what I figured it would be too. Poor. However, I thought the Oline would be strong enough to partially conceal this weakness. Nope. Auburn looks to be in for a long season. Hope those national championship rings keep you warm at night.
