Time will tell about the recruiting end of his new stint. One thing is for sure is he is a proven winner at this level. I would be willing to bet each and everyone here would be ecstatic if we would have landed Spurrier. Watch where our recruiting goes over the next 2 years. Down the toilet.

I loved the Spurrier fist pump when they scored the TD with 6 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. The guy was losing by 40 points and he's giving fist pumps because he finally scores... hillarious.

I hope every team he plays puts up 50 on him.

Tubberville, like Spurrier before him, has run up the score on teams before. I don't really have a problem with that. The game is football and it lasts for 60 minutes.

But it does have two consequences:

    1. You risk injuries to key players (Matt Mauck in 2001-out for the season after an injury late in a won game) (Prothro yesterday--wow).

    2. You risk some payback if you find yourself with a weak team some season. Every team in the SEC owes Spurrier some payback.

Teams better take their shot at Spurrier while they have the chance, because I suspect it'll be much more difficult in a few years. Spurrier has been fond of defending his "run up the score" policy by saying, "It's our job to score points, and it's their job to stop us."

That being said, AU was liberally substituting on defense the entire game, as early as the 2 minute mark in the 2nd quarter. On offense, Cox and the OL desparately needed the work against a respectable defense (respectable, as compared to Ball State and Western Kentucky).

Most of you prolly realize that Spurrier and Tuberville are close friends and golfing buddies in the off-season..... not that it makes a difference. ;)

I posted at the start of the 4th quarter and they were still in. 41-0 and throwing on first down with starters in. I would call out LSU's coach for the same thing. Tubbs better hope he doesn't play visor boy after he gets his players in his system.

What's more classless, you secretly wishing something would happen to an Auburn player just to teach a lesson or Tubby trying to put a few more points on the board? This is college football where blowouts leave big impressions on voters. If he wants to put a few extra up on USC, more power to him. JMO

I didn't wish any players harm. The AP means nothing this year. AU already has a loss, I could maybe see your point if AU is undefeated.
