It certainly seems like the powers that be are laying the groundwork for a potential rematch. What bothers me is the possibility (not sure how much of one) that should LSU lose the SEC Championship, BAMA may get the nod. What are the odds of this?
les is one competitive mf. he mentioned last week in the erin andrews interview he doesnt take his work to bed or lose sleep over it. but he admitted after the game he hadnt slept all week worrying about it. pretty big contradiction there. les is loose on gameday because he knows hes put in nonstop work leading up to it. but since hes happy go lucky, hes not viewed that way. it becomes dumb luck. when in actuality, its crazy preparation. but of course, only nick prepares his teams fully.
My guess is a stronger 3rd place in the human polls, maybe even ahead of Stanford, but likely just behind them. Computer polls would have been pretty identical to what Bama ended up with. Overall, we would have been a slightly stronger #3 BCS team than what Bama ended up with. Roughly in the area of .9000.
I didn't predict Oregon beating Stanford. I was just giving What If scenarios. It's either going to be Oregon or Notre Dame. Notre Dame can hang with almost anyone as long as it doesn't shoot itself in the foot.
I don't think Stanford will win out either and may get dropped this weekend by Oregon. I am also skeptical that Oregon can get back to the BCSNCG if it is against LSU. People just aren't going to want to see that rematch and I think the voters will take care of that, rightly or wrongly. I suspect OU will beat OSU even with the injury, but I could be wrong, and if they don't, then OSU may have a nice path to the BCSNCG.
Let's hope either OSU or Stanford go undefeated. I do not want to play Bama again. Of course we still have to beat Arkansas and win the SEC Championship. And let's not forget Ole Miss. They always play LSU tough.
I think if OU wins out, and beats Okie State .... they will be in the NC game. LSU has already beat Bama LSU has already beat Oregon. - That leaves either OU or Boisy. I don't see Boisy getting the nod, but, the Human Polls "could" influence the BCS enough to make it happen. AND ... as issy has stated, the computers LUV Okie State ... have to consider what that does for OU if they beat the computer darling. Goes back to that "body of work" thing.
If you're worried LSU might lose to Arkansas, then you should be pulling for one of these 2 teams and maybe even both (Okie State or Stanford) to win out to be a buffer between us and all other 1 loss teams. That way LSU potentially only falls to #2 in the human polls.
If lsu wouldve lost they would have fallen to atleast sixth. Bama loses and they fall to third. They drop one spot and we would have fallen through the floor. Bama threw two int. Lsu threw two. It's lsu that has no qb. Not a word about mccarron.
