Sing while you can, my friend. :thumb: FWIW, the 4M for the old FB coach doesn't apply anymore. He's found other employment. Unlike some schools, we don't tend to keep old coaches on payroll for years.
And let's not forget what the LSU girl's basketball team did to Bama recently. Talk about a drubbing.
But you didn't know he was going to get that job when you agreed to give him $4M to go away did you?:dis: Assuming you are right, it's a good thing you don't keep old coaches on the payroll or you would be mailing a lot of checks every month
That specific job, no. A job, yes. It was structured in his buyout that he had to be actively seeking employment or he would default on his contract. So, in essence, I knew he would end up getting a job. Daddy Don and his influence in getting MS an interview with the Dolphins had a lot to do with the way the buyout was written.
My understanding that the agents cut a deal and Shula got his money regardless. The buy out was part of the problem in November when Saban entered the picture, Shula insisted on his money - walk away, fired or whatever. At least that is what we hear in Memphis.
