I'm willing to bet we end up splitting the series once again this year. Although, I have to say this is the best team Gottfriend has put together since he's been at Alabama. Between Bama, LSU and Florida it's going to be a great basketball season in the SEC!
True enough. But with Georgia kicking Auburn's butt today, it should pump the Tigers. If the Barn loses, all LSU has to do to go the the SECCG is win out. I think the Tigers will be pumped. This is the best team we face at home this year and LSU needs to win it impressively. I think they will.
This game is actually irrelevant, as Auburn still has to lose to Bama for us to go. This game actually hurts our SOS and computer rankings overall since we don't play Georgia this season (if Auburn loses). Phuck it, I don't care. I hate Auburn.
Actually, I take that back. Should Arkansas lose to Tennessee today, then LSU could be in the driver's seat for the SEC CG. The tie-breaker would be highest BCS ranking (all 3 teams would have 1 division loss). How far Auburn would fall in the polls would determine if LSU surpasses Auburn in the BCS standings. So we need to root for Georgia to beat them pretty badly, and LSU to get style points with a 24-28 shellacking of Bama tonite.
he's right. divisional losses lsu vs au au vs ark ark vs lsu but dont forget the caveat that if the order of the three teams in bcs has lsu and au ahead of ark, then lsu has to be at least 6 spots ahead of au.
Word from a few of the players is what has made me a bit optimistic about how the defense is going to show up today. The game last year hurt, and they do remember it. The one thing I'm concerned about on offense is how K. Darby is going to come out. He's missed a few practices this week due to his father taking another down-turn, health wise. Even the most dedicated and professional players have difficulty setting aside family health issues and concentrating on the task at hand. Add to that the back-up, Jimmy Johns, is still suffering through a few dizzy spells due to the hit he received last week on a kick-off...so, in essence, we may be looking at significant playing time for our #3 guy, Ali Sharrief. Don't get that wrong...Ali is a talented kid. Heck, if I'm not mistaken weren't you guys after him along with Chris Keys? Keith Brown still has a question mark over his playing time this week...again, injury. I see this one being close...with LSU pulling it out due to the experienced talent.
