RE, by no means am I calling you out on this...but there is something I want to point out. Right now, the team is working out in different groups. The chances of a Walk-On WR working out with DJ, or even hanging out with him, are slim to none. Add to that the fact that in a discipline situation you aren't going to find a coach on the staff talking with other players about what has transpired. Brown is having his problems and they haven't been "not getting along with the staff." A month ago I didn't think he'd have a chance to be back but he has demostrated a big attitude adjustment over the past 3-4 weeks. I feel better today than I did a month ago...but, he still has some work to do. DJ's situation is not about grades as a few have mentioned. He wasn't suspended last year for the Cotton Bowl due to being ineligible (grade wise) either. I will say, that according to the sources I've spoken with, the story the B-ham news station Fox 6 and BOL reported is nothing more than window dressing. The "family situations" line is used a lot in situations with Shula...only because he doesn't feel (neither do I) a players "dirty laundry" needs to be aired out in public. I will not delve into the situation with DJ in detail...but, I will say it hasn't been mentioned in this thread. I hold very little hope he'll return. It's possible, but it is a long row to hoe and he's going to have to be prepared to get to work on a few areas in his life. This isn't a situation where "I have a friend who is ....." First hand knowledge of the situation. As to Prothro... After the surgery and infections that came with the injury his surgeon placed his chances at 70-30 he'd see the playing field again. He'll red-shirt this season. He's still dealing with the infections and the leg is still "draining." One, including Ty, can only wait and see.
I would imagine that the word from those scholarship players could get passed on to those walk ons, seeing how they are on the same football team and take most of the same classes together. But I see where your coming from.
I was just speaking what was told to me...I wasnt acting as if I knew what was going on...Just spreading what I've heard...Chill out.
there is nothing i like more than some tension in Bama in the summer It can only lead to some Tennessee-like football from last season come fall, if you know what I'm saying!
For the first time, I find myself looking at what sausage posted and refering to it. Chill out is your recommendation? Please, take a moment and read what I said in the very first sentence. As in...RE, I'm not calling you out...
I understand what you are saying...but, it doesn't fit this case because a) DJ isn't on campus so that kills the class theory b) the line the walk-on WR was saying was the line the staff was putting out as their public statement and c) the football is split into 4 different groups during the summer...very little contact between the four. (skel drills don't officially begin until a few weeks from now so there is very little contact with specific position groups right now) No big deal with me...just dropping a little info in...
