The taste test taken ... Abita was good in a bottle ... especially washing down some boudin and cracklins ... but ICE COLD Barq's rules still ... it's got a zip Abita can't touch ... crushed ice is a must.

I never met a root beer I didn't like (the exception being Fanta, which tasted like nuclear waste). Barq's, Dad's, Mug, A&W, Frostop, Abita - I like them all. But my favorite is Barq's by a nose.

If I go with root beer from a store it's IBC root beer.

Frost top in a mug is good when I am in the area and want a treat.

Got to be Barqs. It does have a bite that I really love. Most are too sweet and leave too much of a sasparilla after taste (I find it cloying) but good ol Barqs does me right.

I'll bet a lot of ya'll have never tried Abita. They don't sell it everywhere and you have to look for it. In Baton Rouge I get it at Matherne's and I know they sell it at American Market.

    Carface What the...?

Barqs is the only root beer to have caffeine.

Whoa, what the hell happened to Dad's? I haven't seen one in ages.
