It's the fact that it's common knowledge that we "suck" that gets us (I'm assuming it's an "us") riled up. I don't necessarily see it as pouring salt in the wound, but there's a bit more classier way to say that we suck. I'll be the first to tell you that what this team failed to achieve this season shocked the **** out of me. I expected them to be GREAT regardless of youth. I was wrong, but that in no way means that LSU had a terrible season. They did make the conference tourney. Most collegiate programs would give a kidney for that chance. But then again, we ARE LSU... It's just unfortunate. But I'm not giving up just yet! :geauxtige

I was just stating a fact. I never said anything about LSU baseball not being a good program. You cant argue with that great post season streak. That is all great. Nooowwww, lets look at the now...The now, as in this year, sucks. You cant argue that. Can you please tell me that I'm wrong that a team with a SEC Batting average in the .250's and an SEC ERA over 6.50 stinks??? What about a team that is 4 games under .500 in the league?? What about a team that just lost to the worst team in the league 2 out of 3 times. How about a team that backed into the conference tourney. I agree about LSU's history, but you can't dig up history when talking about now. Right now, this team sucks. Period the end.

Just making the SEC tournament while 4 games under .500 in conference play is not a successful season especially when its a season that set a bunch of records for futility in giving up runs in a game, blowout losses at home, losing 6 of the 10 SEC series etc... This would be akin of the basketball team going to the NIT's instead of the Big Dance. Would you brag about how your basketball team went tothe Not Invited Tournament or would you consider that a disappointing year. I for one wouldn't brag about going to that tournament with the only exception being if my school won the NIT which could then be used to say we should've been in the NCAA tournament.

Some schools don't bother hosting banners for anything but CHAMPIONSHIPS and I for one feel LSU should be that way in baseball as we WERE the team of the decade in the 1990's before Lard Ass took over as head coach 2 years after our last N.C. and has slowly been killing off our proud program.

I'd rather back my way into the postseason than not make it at all. Anything can happen in the postseason.

And yes, I'm wearing my purple and gold glasses this morning.

Lets just remember, LSU WAS the team to beat in the SEC at one time. That time is certainly not now. Its not just from looking at this year, its the last few years. This team has not improved over the last few years. It starts was losing in a super, then a regional, then its not even hosting a regional. You can't keep bringing up the past when talking about now. That whiney garbage of , "we have a great post season streak." is all fine and dandy, but please live in the now. LSU is not the feared program that people want to think it is. Every year that they don't do something in Omaha, that further away that 2000 title gets.

Not really because in baseball, seedings don't matter...

We're sounding a lot like UK fans in basketball when they talk about how great their program was etc.. Yes they have the richest basketball history in the SEC, but right now they aren't 1 of the top 2 to 3 teams in the SEC. Same thing holds true in football in regards to Alabama or LSU in baseball. UK fans would probably have a riot if their team didn't make it to the NCAA's and we know what the mood was like concerning bama the last few years with the ncaa probation. So why are some of you complacent with backing our way into the SEC tournament and probably not making the NCAA's unless we win the SEC tournament which is probably not gonna happen with Laval as head coach? While I'm happy that they made the SEC tourney, it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't get a regional bid b/c quite frankly LSU doesn't deserve one by playing a weak schedule and finishing 4 games under 500 in conference play. I'll be happy and root like hell for them to win if LSU makes the field, but reality this season is UNACCEPTABLE.

Well Grad, atleast your honest. Don't hold anything back. I would imagine that die hard fans of this program would just not tolerate such a pathetic baseball team. Its not just losing. If you finish 13-17 but play competative baseball, people can live with that. Getting blown off the field on a regular basis is no fun. I dont see why I suck for just stating something that should be common knowledge. kF you've watched this team play one game this year, you know they are bad. If they woould have had a half decent OOC schedule, they would be much closer to an overall .500 club.
