Better yet, I could scout College of Charleston, they should be in regionals at the end of the season.

    Tirk I scouted UT

They will lose in a horrific manner in the title game to LSU and their head coach will be committed to an insane asylum.

I am hoping they get a super regional and LSU will come play em so I can see the Tigers at least once in person this year. Waco only 45 mins from Ft Hood.

But I have to say there is nothing like reading a BASEBALL report while LISTENING to Omaha, by the counting crows.

Agreed! The Razorbacks look pretty damn good. Don't "rag" on me too much for saying this, but I didn't think we'd start 3-0 (not that I think UGA is a great team, but in the early going this season, we've shown that we're pretty inconsistant at the plate).

Here's to hoping the bats really start coming alive! :tigbas:

Arkansas surprised everyone with their young pitchers. I believe most SEC fans were aware of them being a good fielding and hitting team with so many players back but to go into Columbia and shut down USC in 2 games is pretty impressive.

We've already seen what playing in the SEC does to teams as UGA gets knocked out of the rankings for getting swept by LSU. I'm expecting Bama to rise up into the rankings though if their pitching comes through like expected.

I don't know how I have missed this thread until today!I was surprised - but pleased - to see Texas drop 3. I agree that Cal State Fullerton looks to be the team to beat this year. I have friends that went to Tulane who are baseball fanatics. They were impressed (although not happy) by CSF and also mentioned how great a pitcher Romero is.

I still say we got lucky 2 years ago in the Super Regional. If that Baylor closer
hadn't slammed a car door on his pitching hand the Tuesday before the SR started, we probably wouldn't have made it to Omaha.

Clemson was always like that. They'd get to Omaha with a 60-8 or 62-6 or some ridiculously gaudy record almost every year...and then once they were
there it was two and out. Their pitching would flame out on them.

    horn baseball fan here...

this weekend was very bizarre. our hitting was suspect to say the least...though i must give an enormous amount of credit to baylor's pitching staff. i have no doubts they are a top 5 pitching staff...at least in their starting rotation.

we've had a bit of a slide recently in hitting though. drew stubbs, seth johnston, and taylor teagarden haven't been scoring or driving in many runs over the last two weeks. stubbs went 1 for 9 in the series which was atypical. hopefully, we'll get back on track there...otherwise we aren't going to have too much success. one of the things i liked about this team vs. last year's team was that it seemed in february like we were scoring lots of runs over the entire game instead of just huge burst innings because the bottom of our order was doing a great job of getting on base and picking up the top half when they were struggling. that didn't happen at all this weekend.

strangely enough, baylor has had a lot of regular season success against us over the last 6 or so years. they really bring out their best against us and the record indicates that. i would tell any team in the country to watch out for these guys. getting swept when you're supposed to be the best team in the country is embarrassing though. augie tends to have a knack for making positives out of midseason adversity though and we usually come back strong. last year, we ended the regular season with 2 losses to nc state and a pathetic tournament showing and then strormed through the postseason until the championship series. this weekend's series with texas tech (who took 2/3 from a&m) is paramount for getting out confidence back and getting back into a competitive position in conference.

seems the same thing happened to south carolina. just smoking through pre-conference and then buzzsaw'd the first weekend.

looks like the west will come down to lsu and arkansas. if van horn stays at arkansas and continues to build it into a power program, that could make for one hell of a nice rivalry between you guys. any bad blood there yet?

also, how's the new alex box coming?
