did you get to see this kid mccormick pitch? is he their ace?

no bad blood with arkansas since they're most always a non-factor in any sport minus track and men's hoops. they save their football best for those in Austin. we have perennial-wannabe tulane to deal with this year.

the new alex box is still in development stages.

texas will be fine. augie is an excellent coach even though he is a crybaby loser in the CWS. :hihi: :hihi:

Its normal to overly worry after individual games during a long season yet usually mean little to nothing on the premier clubs. Although, you can find little nuggets of info on your team concerning their character or lack of and tendencies which often develop into a team's personality. Some good, some bad.

i went to all three games. to be honest, all three of their starters are capable of the ace monicker. trey taylor pitched himself out of a few jams rather gracefully (though we did make two mistakes on the bases) and cory vanallen pitched a good game in austin on friday night, only giving up 2 runs on 3 hits.

however, mccormick went almost 8 innings giving up only 4 hits and no earned runs. not to mention 1 walk and 10 k's. that's against texas, not some low rent.

so yeah, they can pitch a little bit. :yelwink2:

when their hitters get into a groove, they are virtually unbeatable but they aren't especially strong on offense. i won't be surprised to see the bears in omaha if they do make it.

i think texas will bounce back as well...i know augie will make this into a positive and our guys won't have an our **** don't stink attitude...the tech series is important though, imo.

like i said, as arkansas continues to have success in baseball, a nice little rivalry could develop there with lsu. would be nice if their entire lives could be validated by something other than ut too.

came across these pics for a proposed new box...would be mighty impressive if you guys put this together. looks exactly like the dell diamond here in central texas...which is a great park.

wow 10ks huh. I knew this kid was special when I saw him as a freshman yet hadnt heard a lot about him since. I know scouts said he can almost hit triple digits on the gun and if so that has to make him a top 10 pick. if he was left-handed he would likely be #1 overall. if only his parents had tied up his right arm at birth.

I dont think arkansas validates themselves by everything UT. they just enjoy ruining your lives whenever possible which I admire.
    :hihi: :hihi:

hello macfly, this is texas. its a prerequisite to get in. :hihi: :hihi:

lol i know so Im required by birth to take shots.

appreciate the recap of this past weekend. I expect this on a per-game basis from you as well since you'll have a little better insight on those other schools like Baylor as well. we'll pay you per UT loss.

well, i can understand the animosity between the two...and the growing amount all the time. i've just never really disliked lsu all that much. i came down there in 2003 for the auburn football game with some big 10 buddies who'd never been and we had a blast. went to the krewe of ragoo tailgate, got ****ty, found some chicks at tigerland, and just had an all around blast. i genuinely wish lsu and texas would play a three game series every single year in baseball...i can't imagine anything better.

it might be that my dad is a louisianan or the food...but i've never cared too much either way on that road. now, if we played every year in football... :)

i'll be sure to come by at least once a week and give you guys an update on your big 12 betters to the west...

good luck with auburn this weekend.

Nice to see a good Horn fan come over and talk baseball. Their big hitters are in a slump, funny how that works in baseball. And he didn't even blame Augie or their hitting coach!!!!!

I wish LSU played UT in a series every year as well. They could play game in that defunct company's park in Houston one year and the dome the next and play the other 2 in those nice minor league fields.
