Thanks. We just lost our male Weim the 16th of Feb. To say that my emotions are a bit raw and that I really worry about her would be putting it mildly.
But not to bring the thread down. Great job by Smoke and the boys. I prefer to see sound, fundamental, baseball instead of gorilla ball. And with the parity being achieved in college ball now, I think it has to go that way for a school to have a successful program these days.
Thanks Okie, we can always count on you. Hope all is well at your place. It'll take some time but you're in my prayers!
Wow, just getting back to a friend's house after the game... and what a game it was!!! My initial thoughts about our team after this game: First off, hats off to this team for battling a tough Tulane team for a very big confidence booster... Secondly, Hollander (despite his error tonight) is really doing a swell job of leading this team. Pitching was phenomenal to say the least. Our freshman Coleman will definitely be a good one for us. It's too bad that one of his very few bad pitches was a 2 run homer, but give the guy some credit. Offensively, I think we did a great job against some worthy arms tonight and... WOW is "small ball" exciting or what?! Ogata: Wow is this guy of Japanese heritage? I really didn't expect that... but that's really cool!!! The biggest thing I'm pleased about is that our pitching seems to be coming along pretty well. I was afraid that we wouldn't be an effective "small ball" club if our pitching couldn't hold teams to fewer than 4 or 5 runs, but it looks like we will be okay. Great win for the Tigers... Tulane wanted this one BAD... you could tell. I've never seen them, or their fans or JONES for that matter look so disgruntled after a loss to LSU. Geaux Tigers... and thanks Okie for the update even though I couldn't be here to read it!
the power of the gold jerseys lives. ok i knew i jinxed em when i spoke so highly of their fielding. hollander had a tailor-made dp ball to end the inning before they tied it but we still perservered. Man, did you see waguespack's at-bat? He musta fouled off 5 3rd strike pitches to stay alive. what a fantastic addition he has been. yeah ogata is asian from oregon. We stole him from pac-10 land. dardar looked like he was telling smoke by this outing he is gonna close. he looked pretty good. everyone looked good against Latham, the stud closer. I think he gave up like 3 earned runs all last year or something close. crowd was pretty good tonight. oh and wise looks like he's gonna be a force at the plate.
You like the gold jerseys too, I see? :hihi: I'm glad to see them back. Sh!t, Wise and Waguespack are BOTH great additions. I'm telling ya, by the third or fourth foul ball from Wags off of Latham I had a feeling something good was going to happen offensively. Yea, I knew he was from Oregon, but didn't realize he was asian. That's cool, I'm all for the culture. Ivan Naccarata, Jason Ogata... LSU is going world-wide. Yea, lame, but... :geauxtige
I still worry about Dardar's command, walking the lead off man. We haven't had a reliable closer in a while.
For those of us hundreds of miles away, that is not an option. But, by your own definition, you are not a real fan. Hell, we could have told you that!
