I bet he'll want to stay and play for Brady at least one more year.

He is looking and searching for an excuse to go pro, but just can't find one right now:

he will NOT be in the 1st rd, so the only question is: Will he give in to the false sense of security by Friday or not? b/c i am sure some GM will lie to him about his stock

    Now here is a question:

Is him coming back a good thing?

It appears clear that it would only be a pro audition for him if he plays another year...

I dont think Brandon would ever let his unselfishness fade, but only time can tell...

I dont think the kid is selfish. If it was you, what should you do? Brandon is a very smart person. He sends his message to NBA. If you want want me, pay & draft me in the first round.

If there is not enough interest for him, he will go back to school and improve his draft status for next year.

Man, I really thought that the longer it went the more likely he was to stay. If the NBA guys are telling him 20-36, I don't think I would risk not being a 1st round pick. Then again, he is probably confident in his ability to make the team.

I just hope that he stays, for my own selfish reasons.

If, and I say IF he comes back to play, it wouldn't have anything to do w/Brady. Despite how the outward appearance is, he and Brady do not see eye-to-eye most of the time. Brady doesn't get much respect from any of his players.

Tiger1958, if you think Brandon Bass will be back next year for a "pro audition", then that's great. That means that he is a great player. Enough about that. There have been so many players in the past years that have been told by agents and "experts" that they were definite 1st round picks. A lot of them didn't even get drafted. The player for the NO Hornets, his last name is Lampe, he was a Top 10 projected pick. He went 35th or so in the 2nd round. Just because someone tells you "Man, you're a guaranteed 1st round pick," means nothing. Obviously, Brandon is a very smart guy, so if he stays 1 more year, he could maybe next year be a Top 15 pick or a definite 1st round pick. 1st rounders, especially the Top 10, get a lot of guaranteed money unlike 2nd rounders. If Brandon stays, this will definiely be a great year for LSU basketball if John Brady lets these players play.

I think he will leave, but I wouldnt if I were him. However, it depends on who has his ear. Are people telling him that it will be better, that he will definately make a team and the big money, or is someone telling him that he could blow out his knee tomorrow, that he needs to graduate, or at least get close enough to it to fall back on it if things dont work out. I would make all college basketball players watch some of the documentaries on ESPN about guys in the NBA Developemental league.. those guys don't have it very good. Would sure as hell deter me from leaving too early. All of these guys that go in early, they are all very raw, unless they are a freak like LeBron. Many dont make it, most have to play for a few years to even come close to learning the pro game. The ones that start a level above the others are the ones who go to college for 3+ years.

""The best thing for Bass might ultimately boil down to how attractive Bass is to the NBA folks making the draft-day decisions this year and how much his stock could improve if he returns and goes to the draft a year from now.

As of Tuesday, nearly 50 underclassmen had declared for the draft, in part to beat a pending NBA rule that would require players to be at least 20 years old to be eligible for the draft.

The draft pool this year is already stocked with college players of similar size, skill level and potential as Bass -- Sean May and Marvin Williams of North Carolina, Joey Graham of Oklahoma State, Danny Granger of New Mexico, Hakim Warrick of Syracuse, Ike Diogu of Arizona State, Wayne Simien of Kansas, Linas Kleiza of Missouri.

Combined with the crop of high-school age entries and foreign players trying to beat the age-limit deadline this year, it's possible Bass coudld get lost in the shuffle.

A year from now, should Bass turn in a strong junior season, he could be a top 5-10 choice.""
