Bass to make final decision on Friday. Doesn't look good

I think your last statement is right on. When I read this quote in the advocate this morning, I thought Bass is being mislead in a big way:

"The apparent cause for the down-to-the-wire decision is if Bass can get a promise from an NBA club that he would be selected in the first round."

Now, from my experience with these drafts, especially if you're not a sure fire top 5 pick, your draft postion is ambiguous at best. To think that Brandon may be basing his future on how the draft plays out is not only scary, but downright foolish. Remember Shane Merriman, the LB from Maryland who was 'promised' he was going to be picked by the Cowboys last month ? He ended up in SD. I'm sure there a many basketball examples of this as well. The point is, no one has a crystal ball to project, especially late first rnd, how the draft will fall out. If a highly ranked player falls to the team that 'promised' to draft bass and decided to take that player instead of bass, where does that leave brandon? The point is that brandon should be smarter to know that being 'promised' a draft postion is a crap shot that could come up snake eyes. Stay and school and determine your own destiny, brandon.

 

Anyone hear any news on this? Is a press conference scheduled?

 

Buddy Songy said that there probably won't be one today. He has until midnight of tomorrow to have one. Also says this doesn't sound too good for LSU.

 

How does he figure that? Bass would've declared by now if he got what he was looking for, which is a first round gurantee. He is obviously delaying the decision until he gets that gurantee or until he knows for sure he won't be a 1st round pick.
