I don't think... especially if UoF beats Bama, and TT loses tonight that anything can put OU and UT in the NC game. Florida will go if they beat Bama without a doubt.

Actually it will be Bama, OU, Texas and then Florida 4th in the BCS come tomorrow if that happens. But I get your point.

Florida will close the gap on OU in the computer polls considerably with a win over #1 ranked Bama. And they are already comfortably ahead of OU in the human polls. That gap would widen with an idle OU next Saturday.

    Texas vs Florida

    Here's my thinking:

A Bama loss and a Texas win over Mizzou next week means Texas will be a clear #1.

(Texas Tech tied the game as I am typing this)

Florida will be #3 in the computers after next week, maybe even #4 behind Bama. We have seen situations like this before.

If that gap is big enough and Florida doesn't receive unanimous #2 votes (meaning a lot of voters keep OU at #2), we could see chaos.

Yes but even with only 1 loss or undefeated... the SECCG winner will not go over looked especially since we've won the NC 2 straight years now.

    No.

In fact Mizzou's loss to Kansas was not great news for either Texas, Texas Tech or OU.

I now believe Florida will end up #1 in the BCS with a win over Bama. Mizzou will be ranked somewhere around #20. Not near the punching power of being top 10.

Florida has a significant advantage over Texas in the human polls and the gap will get wider.

The only question is Texas over OU. And even that should not be in question if Texas wins the Big 12.

Am I wrong that you have to win your conference in order to go to the BCS NC game? I thought they put that rule in after OU lost the big 12 championship game and still got in over USC.

    No such rule.

They did some major tweeking after 03 they hoped that would maybe help prevent it, but there is no rule that denies a team like Texas to make it to the NC if OU beats Okie-St but then loses to Mizzou.

Nope... that's why UGA was trying to lobby for the NC last season, because they ended up #2 in BCS even though they didn't go to or win the SECCG.

    Berge, you want true chaos?

    Texas Tech wins.
    OU loses.
Texas Tech beats the living crap out of Mizzou.

Who plays Florida? Texas Tech or Texas?

    That's a real phucking mess.
