And this was a surprise, why?

Did all these players quit at one point or another?

Yes. Those are all players who left the team for one reason or another during John Brady's tenure at LSU. I saw the list published in TigerRag a few weeks ago.

I am assuming this is a much higher attrition rate than what would be considered normal.

    Ya think!?

Don't get me wrong. These guys who are here now play their hearts out for Brady and are very competitive players. Going to the games though, it is tough to look over at the scorer's table and see the other team substituting two or more people regularly. This attrition has to have some direct effect on this. The lack of depth from the bench is very obvious in many games. Short of Neltner, Lazare, and Whipple, there is just not anyone else to go to.

As for the basis of this thread, scoring by the bench, it is not a very good indicator of bench play though. Take today's game for example. Whipple came in with around 15 minutes to go in the game and he really shut down the perimeter shooting of Arkansas. He was a HUGE contributor off the bench today. By the thread starter's logic though, he was basically a non-contributor. The bench players who do come in do play well. LSU just needs more of such players.

Something must have happened to Neltner tonight. When we were down 10 and cut it to 3 with about 2 minutes left in the game, Mitchell made a great a backdoor cut and got a lay up plus foul. The entire bench got up and cheered except Neltner. He was just sitting on the bench looking like he was mad at the world. Anyone have any info about this????
