    Re: Even if...

What I got out of his post was that even SOS is BS the way they figure it. In other words, Fresno St can end up higher than us in a computer poll due to the lame SOS figuring.

of course they are. only BC has a winning record of all those teams.

syracuse is 1-7 i think. FSU's defense/special teams probably scored in each of those games. 2 i know for sure.

not gonna happen against beamer ball. hell, they lost to an average UVA team.

The simplest stat of all is a W-L record.
But the cumulative matchups are very segregated and regional to begin with.

Construct validity variables are too different when you are talking about playing several teams that live by both the sword and the shield instead of playing several teams that just live by the the sword.

There is simply a cumulative difference.

That may be true, but what message does it send to the players and coaches that just handed you an undefeated season?

I agree caddilacattack. You have to support your team.

I love the BCS for the following reasons:
    1) every game means something, Baylor vs Texas means something, if Texas loses they are out, in a playoff system Texas may still make it in. In the NFL, the last 5 or 6 weeks of the season decide the season. You never hear an ESPN announcer, as they said Friday morning while interviewing Bledsoe, "You guys are off to a great start (5 and 3).
    2) A playoff system would deminish conference championships. I do not know what anyone else thinks but winning the SEC is huge to me. To be the best of the best conference in the country.
    3) We talk about college football all year because of the BCS.

Lastly, I am a plus 1 guy. Just play one more game.

    Aubrn vs USC
    LSU vs USC

I just don't see anyway Miami beats VT. Miami struggles on offense and their QB is awful. VT's defense will shut Miami down. Vick will make enough plays to win this game.

FSU is similar to Miami ... no QB. The game to watch will be VT vs Virginia. I think Virginia has a legit shot to upset VT.

After watching both UM and FSU play over the course of the season both of their QB's are getting better and I don't think they are awful. they were very unstable in the beginning but the coaches are bringing them along and they now can make plays. It will be interesting to see how they fare vs good defenses to see have far along they have really come.
