they had a few people for the bowl system, i want to say it was a representative from nc state that made the point they wouldnt be playing a game if there was a playoff......it seems all of the arguments are for a playoff and a playoff only, none are talking about a playoff and the bowl system together
The guys in congress will not get side tracked by their double talk. Hell, they invented double talk. :hihi: I think they want to see a plus 4 or plus 8 system after the bowls. You do know next year they're doing a plus 1 after the BCS bowls, right?
we have forgotten about those things and decided to just concentrate on college football, this country can only handle one subject at a time. for god's sake this is a sub committe on commerce, trade and consumer products, im sure they could figure out how to win the war or find an alternative fuel source or solve the katrina problem
No they aren't. They are adding a 5th BCS bowl to be played at the site of the NC game. This is to allow smaller conference schools a better chance to participate. Here is how it would work if it were this year. One week early, The Rose Bowl would host the additional BCS game - name to be determined. It would be a BCS game in terms of revenue, etc etc etc. Then on Jan 4th a week later the actual Rose Bowl NC game would be played.
That's not what I read. What I saw said that the new game would be played on Jan. 8th and it would be counted as a plus 1 after the regular bowls. I've only seen this from one source so if you have something more up to date I'd like to read it. I'm not saying you're wrong. I just didn't see it explained that way.
