Didn't they also put in a rule where USuCk gets an automatic bye into the NC game regardless of how their season goes?

No, but fUSC does get to claim a national championship each year whether they've earned it or not.

Yeah. Iowa is tearing it up! I just LOVE how their coach set this all in motion by "admitting" something along the lines of "we don't have all the things that some of the consistant big-name schools have.....but we do the best we can to recruit kids" ....and something else along the lines of: We're in the middle of nowhere--but we have to sell our a$$e$ off to a recruit to get him to come here.

Heh.... he surely had everyone fooled.

To Malone and BostonBengal... thanks for the comments.

I think a lot of things fell together for us this recruiting season. Obviously, our success on the field was the big thing, but we were also helped by the new West Corn Offense at Nebraska??, Notre Dame's fiasco with Willingham and Ohio State's current mess.

Our growth as a presence on the field came from taking 6'6", 240 lb tight ends, like Gallery, and turning them into 6'8", 320 lb OT Outland trophy winners. Babineaux, our all Big Ten DT came to us out of Port Arthur, Texas as a 6'1", 215 lb running back. Roth was a 220 lb linebacker... and so on.

I hope all these new "stars" fully understand what's ahead of them. We're not use to having Prima Dona's.

As Ferentz says, "Giving 100% in practice doesn't make you special, it just gets you on the team".

It will be interesting to see how we handle this new crop.

West Corn Offense!!! Good one! :thumb:

Wow! So you guys ARE "corn-feeding" those boys! .....guess if you aren't in Columbus or East Lansing you.....ugh......er.....eat! ;)

Your head coach doesn't appear to be the type that would take that crap--so I thnk you're ok there.
