BCS Talk: LSU/Bama may be playing each other twice this season

I guess there are a few scenarios where LSU and Bama could play a rematch in the championship game. No doubt if it were to somehow happen, people around the country would be very unhappy, and it's hard to disagree with them.
If LSU goes into T-Town and upsets the Tide, would we really want to play them again for all the marbles? What if Alabama would then beat us in the Championship game? Bama loses at home, wins on a neutral field, and they are declared the champs? That would be a little unsatisfying for everyone except for the people of Alabama. Obviously, the same could happen if Bama won the first matchup, and then the 2 teams split after the rematch.
A few years ago, there was a chance that Michigan and Ohio State could play a rematch in the BCS title game, and I remember this same argument then. You'll have some people saying "how can you play for the championship when you didn't even win your own conference".
It's hard to imagine the pollsters letting it happen.....but hey, the BCS is a crazy thing.

If there was ever a year when this was going to fly, it could be this one.

However, if we win in 2 weeks, I definitely want to play someone new for the BCSNC. I mean, really--Bama would absolutely be tougher to beat (twice, no less) than any of the other contenders.

    You, my friend, are correct.

LSU gets more respect than anyone in the BCS and the polls in general.

    My prediction:

    Stanford loses to Oregon
Kansas St. loses to either Ou/Okie st.
Clemson falls to Ga. Tech but wins ACC title game
    Okie st. loses to OU
    Boise loses to TCU
Wisconsin wins out and beats MSU in a rematch in the Big 10 Title game

If this scenario plays out and LSU/Bama loser wins out, you would have seven one-loss teams behind an undefeated SEC champ, with potentially Clemson, Wisconsin, Oregon as conference champs who'd won their conference title game.

If Alabama is No. 1, I think you could see Oregon/Wisconsin get in over LSU simply to avoid a rematch. How unfair would that be?

Clemson is losing to Georgia Tech this week.

It was fun while it lasted.

If all the BCS teams have at least one loss, I would be in favor of giving LSU a second chance at us for all the marbles. But that's just me.

It's not LSU that's going to need the "second chance."

Aside from the obvious bias, WE are #1 right now so even if this were fans from neither fanbase the presumption should be Bama needing a 2nd chance.
