What do you guys think? Do these sites make us look like bitter fans that can't let things go or are they all in good fun?
I can't vote because I feel like it's somewhere in between. I do think it's fun, but it really does make us look obsessive. Those are both issues at this point that we need to let go of.
Most fan bases will dig up anything to make other fan base look bad, bitter, or whatever. From personal experience... I believe it is all fun, but to others, it makes us look bitter.
I think another poll should be this regarding beatsaban.com: Is this site just about making money off emotion about Saban? Is this site really about wanting to beat Saban? I would never wear a shirt like that. I use to hold Saban in high regard. That all changed based on how he handled the whole Miami/Bama mess. He's still a good coach, nothing more.
So then that begs the question, is it that some of us really have no other passions in life (and I don't mean that in a derogatory way) or are some of us just that passionate about the tigers?
No more obsessive than people who insist their team won a Nat'l Championship, yet have no crystal football to show for it...
That only holds water if USC started their own website and rented a billboard here in Baton Rouge. Did they?
They did post a billboard, but did not start a website to my knowledge. They did however print up a bunch of T-Shirts and became the first team since 1997 to celebrate the winning of the AP Poll Trophy which has to count for something. That behavior opened the door to AU's "People's Choice" Nat'l Championship and the subsequient tractor parade. Anyone responsible for that travesty should be drug into the street and shot. In a few years we'll be giving green ribbons to the teams that finish 3-25 in the AP Poll. #2 of course will receive a certificate for a free Chik-Fil-A meal and/or ice cream cone.
