Is it my imagination, or are we doing fine without Shepard and Jefferson? Shepard bring an imagined threat, but has he really been the threat we'd hoped he'd be? I keep waiting for a breakout game, but I haven't seen anything that has really blown me away. The way Lee is passing, and our running backs are performing, I'm happy with the status quo.
Shepard obviously has been a huge disappointment. I hope we can work him into the offense for a couple of big plays each game. Just not sure how we use him. I don't want to see him in as a slot receiver too often. That's Beckham's earned position now, and I hope it stays that way. We'll see how we handle him in the WVU game. Would be nice if he was great at returning punts and/or kickoffs but that never happened either. And I don't even think he's being considered as a change of pace QB anymore, as Magee seems to have secured that spot as well as our 3rd/4th ? string QB who is a dual threat.
that's the QB I am referring to I meant both MaGee and Randall (who is 4th string per Miles) I can see how you easily read it the other way, ambiguously stated on my part
That's a bit harsh. He hasn't quite lived up to his expectations but he is only a junior with one year of playing WR under his belt. Considering that, I thought he was fine in the slot role last year. Tied for 2nd most receptions on the team and added a few huge plays (though they were far between). No he has not yet produced at an All-SEC level in his little more than two years on campus, but there is still plenty of time for him to make an impact.
