1. I believe Chief and Cam will make the same amount next year and then Chief will have to negotiate a new contract.

    Edit:

    Chavis 2012 $900K, 2013 $1.1M, 2014 $1.3M

  2. With the quality of defense he produces, and the pressure on him to win games inspite of the offense... he should be making $2M/yr. Dude has been as loyal as they come, losing him would hurt more than losing Les.

  3. Yep, an Gerry Dinardo beat saban 45-26 in the Indy Bowl. Faulk had about 240 yds. rushing that game. LSU ended up with about 440 yds total offense. An who replaced Gerry?
  4. At my age, I'm lucky to get anything right........FYI, Ed Reed and Mealey were high school teammates at Destrehan High.

  5. Yet it took LSUs defense and a pick 6 to win that game.
  6. The point was that again, LSUs offense didn't win that game.
  7. Boys neither the offense or the defense wins championships....a complete team effort is required. Thiat means an effective offense, defense and special teams.
We can point to single games where one or the other side was key to winning BUT look at LSU in 2011, what may have been our greatest D ever couldn't survive the offense implosion in Jan. Likewise look at Oregon, WVU etc with point a minute Os that couldn't get the job done against LSU because their Ds couldn't handle our O.
So be optimistic we have a complete team in the coming years and get ourselves some crystal rather than arguing which side of the ball is more valuable.
  8. The big question is - does Cam get a Super Bowl ring from the Ravens, even though he was fired 3/4 of the way through the season? They were 8-2 (or something like that) at one point in the season with him as OC.

Also (unrelated), what's going to happen with Krags? What's his new role?
  9. Yes, he is getting a ring.
