Yes, it is amazing. What was the stat they showed yesterday? Something like 5 of the last 7 Mr. Insignificants are still in the league. That's probably a better success rate than the last pick of the last 7, 2nd rounds - although I'm not going to go do the research.
Never forget the wave of shock and awe that came over me when I researched this guy. Would have been another wasted draft if not for the Saints savior, Adrian McPherson. (at least it'll be that way on my Madden 06, Brooks and a first rounder for either Freeney or Peppers).
lol trade 'em for ro-ro and mauck. put marcus at safety and let 'er rip. could get a helluva team with the recent newbies. blue gay chad bradie spears lionel td cw im sure josh reed is waiting to bust out as well.
I feel for ole Josh. Buffalo drafting Roscoe Parrish means they're most likely cutting Moulds and his 10 mil salary after this year, so there would have been an open WR spot in Buffalo, but he may be stuck at slot WR his whole career. Then again, you never know, I think Horn was KC's 3rd WR for years before hitting it big in the big easy.
test him and let me know if he succeeds as the top wr. then again, Michael Clayton may become unhappy.
Sorry Tirk, not what I meant, my bad. I meant they'd release Moulds, go with Lee Evans as the "#1" WR, Parrish as the no. 2 in theory. Too short to be a no. 1 WR. Unless he played for New England, lol.
Scrapheap, one big reason it's beneficial to be a free agent v. going in the 7th round is the signing bonus. Most of the these guys that have multiple suitors can get around a $20K-$30K signing bonus, that they would not get as a 7th round pick. I know it doesn't sound like a helluva lot of money in the context of the millions, but it's more than they would get as a 7.
He probably got a typical non-guaranteed, one-year deal. He'll get a pittance for doing things like mini-camps, training camp, etc., with the bulk of his minimum salary coming from those weekly regular-season paychecks...assuming he makes the final, post-preseason roster, of course. Such is the life of an undrafted FA, especially the young ones right out of college. You have thousands of guys who play just Div 1-A ball alone, and about 1,500 NFL players total, so unless your special (i.e., drafted, especially in the top three rounds), you're seen as being replaceable.
I believe all NFL contracts are non-guaranteed, although a big signing bonus does have the effect of a guaranteed one. Ben signed so quick with Cincy, I'm not sure that many teams contacted him and tried to sign him. I bet he signed for about what you say in bonus and for about $240,000 per year, but for 3 years since they aren't guaranteed.
