What loony imaginations! Pay closer attention and you would realize that this was all about getting our last prisoner of war released. We need to be able to leave Afghanistan soon and we don't leave anyone behind. Let the dumbfuck take his court martial. Now the rags don't have him to behead for propaganda or to influence US actions.
Just wanted to point out, the socialist liberal Obama has released far less prisoners from gitmo than Bush and Cheney.
Good try L but the ones W released were not leaders but mostly young fighters captured during the first phase of Afghanistan. Many were conscripted into the Taliban. The ones your favored one released for the deserter were hardened leaders. Big difference.
I'd guess by their rank om the HVT list or if they were even on it. I've not looked at who W released but I can't imagine that cowboy turning loose anyone important. Now the ones that barrackmed let loose were all HVT if I'm not mistaken.

At this point in my opinion I agree with you. Anyone that's been there this long shouldn't be released, they will just rejoin and fight us again.
