Back surgeries used to be guesswork at best but as mentioned here lots of people with much success the last few years. Just find you a good one first.

It's a trade agreement, like NAFTA and the trade agreement we have with the European Union and with 20 other countries. Our economic system is based on international free trade and it is always in our interests to support anything that promotes free trade with us. Like any big agreement, there are pieces and parts that are subject to disagreement, but it provides ways to deal with them--thing like copyright protection, trade balance, intellectual property rights, tariffs, currency manipulation, etc.

The biggest reason to support this is because it puts the biggest and best free economies in our circle rather than that of the Chinese and the Russians, who also strive to make trade agreements that are in their interests. This is an area where we can whip their asses because of the size, stability, and productivity of our economy which everybody in the world wants access to. And equally so because of our Superpower technology and influence, particularly the size and power of our navy, which owns the planets oceans. We can keep the sea lanes open for our friends and deny them to our enemies when things get tough. This is huge.

We need to enact this for many very good reasons. Certain stupid Republicans will oppose anything that Obama supports of course. But the smart ones know that America needs this to maintain an edge over China and Russia. We need free-market access to overseas resources and markets. When those countries make money they want to buy American stuff and American technology.

Does this further open the door to see more American jobs shipped overseas?

Got evidence all the disabled people you know would be out working hard, much less making good money in this rosey picture you paint? Of course you don't, it's your style to lay a little egg but then ask for evidence from the other side. Part of your charm :)

50% of the spinal surgeries performed due to "injury" are bogus, it's a widely known dirty secret in the spinal industry, doesn't matter if it's Stryker, MedTronic, BioMed etc.....there are a certain group of surgeons who are in bed with Plaintiff Laywers, it's everywhere and widely known within the community. Not something big corporations would want out on the street either.

Well sugarplum can you get me Secretary Tom Vilsack's phone number? This guy was the regional director of the Department of Ag and he just about had no idea what you could and couldn't bring into the U.S in the form of anything. I went on his own website, pulled up what is and isn't required to have a CITES permit and found out more in 2 minutes than he's been paid to know for his 17 years of employment, of course he would not want to hear any of it much in the same embarrassed condescending manner all these idiots are programmed. This is usually the case in dealing with any Gov't employee, with the exception of our Military folks. Now that we've proven to him he was wrong, once we got back to Lafayette of course, we now have the option to return back to Laredo to pick up our Quarantined items. Total and complete incompetence. So what does our Gov't do? Put him in charge, lets make him a manager, the one for all the new hires to look up to! I will be seeing him again in a week and once I have our items in possession I'll inform him exactly how competent he is in full exercise of my rights to free speech.

It opens the door to competition and as our productivity is so high and energy is cheap good jobs are coming back to America. Protectionism is at best a short term tonic to have a long term prosperity you need to be able to compete.
As incomes rise in places like India and China etc any labor advantage they have is reduced.
The loss of jobs in the past has been mostly due to low wages elsewhere and the fact that business was protected in effect because the U.S. was the only super economy. As Europe and Japan recovered from WWII and other places developed we couldn't control the markets. That is the main reason behind the job shocks. As we reacted and became competitive and other countries matured the wage difference have faded. You can't look short term but long term.

You are the one that made the claim! I offered examples to suggest that maybe its not that simple. Here is your chance to prove your point. Or you can whiff.

You have the right to expose yourself as unable to deal with the government. It's not really a marketable asset, though. You have the right to make a highly connected enemy who may blindside you mercilessly some day. Where is the profit in that? Never let your adversaries know what you are thinking, amiga.
