That show was awesome. I think Condon peaked WAY too early! The morning show on 1300 wasn't too bad for a while (any word from the Freakin' Puerto Rican? :lol I doubt Scrappy knows about that show though, since he was roughly 7 years old at the time. And not a knock on you at all Scrapheap, that show was just a LONG time ago.
Being that my dad is in the radio industry, I've talked to a lot of GM's and OM's and they tell me that Condon is def a ris to put on the air. He has a small following that enjoy his style, but in the long run it doesnt pan out. I guess I can agree that it is shock radio to an extent, but it's nowhere near some of these bigger market guys. I have been listening to condon for about 5 years now. So, I havent heard him in his glory years.
I agreed that the event was def an event that the AD should have attended. But, considering that the Yvette was getting win number 1000, it was def a milestone for her. I was moreless agreeing with the point that softball is unimportant.
You never saw Sneed pitch did you? She struck Wally out at the PMac one night... I'd say that's pretty good.
From the AD's perspective no sport can be considered unimportant, none, zilch, zip, nada. And it sure didn't seem unimportant when so many were following their exploits last spring, we got one hell of a lot of press nationally as well.
I am sure he spoke with Mr. Wally. I'm positive it was not meant as an insult to the Pontiff's nor did the family take it as such.
Ohh, I don't know about that Marine. I just know Condon and others were mad he didn't show up at the game.
