My parents started taking me to Jack Sabin's as a birthday dinner when I was around 11. Their filet mignon was an absolute thing of beauty.

I really enjoy Ruffino's and Louisiana Lagniappe.

The Chimes was a sentimental favorite of mine from college. I still think their shrimp poboys are quite good.

My daughters insist on hitting Sammy's every time we're in Louisiana; however, we always go to the one in Central because it's about 2 miles from my parents' house. Their sauteed shrimp dish is really good.

I miss the original Sicily's pizza and Hopper's, too.

I drove past the Times today and there is a closed sign out front. I'm not surprised.

I saw that today too...Might be the last time I drive down Essen for a while. Going to be a nightmare with that construction. Going all the way from I-10 to Perkins.

They are not even going to start the real construction until 2016. But what are you going to do? College, Bluebonnet ans Seigan are just as bad.
