I hear Acme Oyster House has a good gravy roast beef, but I haven't tried it. And Taste of Louisiana in Denham has a pretty good one, too.

The Pastime makes a good hot sausage po-boy. They make a hot sausage pizza, too.

Does anyone import the real french bread from NO for poboys up here?

You can't get away with hoagie rolls in Baton Rouge and call it a Po-boy. Some do, but not the places mentioned in this thread. All of them have good New Orleans style french bread.

A few. If you have ever had a real poboy, you will find the fare in BR lacking. The best by far I have had is the roast beef at Pocarellas (Leidenheimer bread, I think). Unfortunately they don't have any seafood. Pastime's variation of the roast beef is good, but Pokie's is better.

Jones Creek Oyster Bar's shrimp was okay. Everyone else messes something up. Too salty shrimp, too small shrimp, not enough shrimp, terrible bread, etc.

I like Rocco's. The gravy is very garlicy, which I enjoy. I get the Shrimp poboy with at side of gravy for dipping. And the gravy is good and thick, not that Oh-Jew crap.

    Where is that?

I forgot about the meatball at Pokie's. The meatballs and the sauce are made right there. I sometimes grab a chicken & spaghetti as well. It was a childhood favorite.

I had a decent shrimp po-boy at Po Boy Llyod's once, but the last couple times I went the shrimp was overcooked and too salty.

Sammy's is on Highland near Staring Lane. So in between Kenilworth Pkwy and Staring but way closer to staring.
