Old Bridge and New Bridge debate. I occasionally travel between Lake Charles and New Orleans, and not always by sea. I'm asking for advice on beating the traffic as I head West to East and East to West. Should I cross the river on Interstate 10 or take the Hwy 190 route? What are the hours of the Morning and Evening Drive Times on the two bridges? I've got to travel to see a seriously ill little sister on the day of the Ole Miss at LSU game in BR later this month. Maybe on that Saturday morning, I should take the Old Bridge? Thanks.
Jean, "West to East" is East. "East to West" is West. Sorry to hear about your sister. To answer your question, I sometimes take my mom to her dr in BR and we either try to pass through before 8 or after 9 and just drive through. Could just be getting lucky, someone from around there will know more. There is a web cam for the on ramp- or used to be. I'll try to find it for you to check out.
What about Saturday morning of Gameday? Ole Miss at LSU? How early in the morning to beat traffic over the I 10 bridge?
There is a bridge about halfway between no and br I think it's in gramercy, it would be more scenic drive
sunshine is the one i was thinking of, last time i crossed it (around the time of Katrina) it was not heavy traffic
Well, to be fair, I am from La. but lived away from home on military bases. I guess I forgot about these other bridges.
