going out of the auburn game last year, i heard someone say that auburn always wins when he goes to the game. i wonder if he was there for georgia in 2002 if that 4th down touchdown would not have been completed.
I have mixed emotions when it comes to betting. On one hand, if your just dropping a few bucks down with some friends or something or a dinner somewhere its one thing. But, when people are putting hundreds of thousands down on games, it can cause nothing but trouble. Before you know it your in the hole a few thousand, people are coming after you with bats. Of course, thats only your big time bettors. Next thing you know your fixing basketball games then its all going to hell. I hate those who bet on people to cover the spread. That is so dumb.
scrap, you speak of what you not know. sports wagering is no different than betting futures legally on the stock market. you can lose your ass just as easily but its legal since you can be taxed. thats the reason 'gambling' was deemed illegal since you paid a bookie. however, now you can wager on just about anything legally through offshore means. i know hundreds of people who take a recreational stab doing this as well as some who do it professsionally. its all about doing homework. ill do it recreationally since i like numbers and its fun to beat the game for a few dollars here and there. try to be more open minded and dont buy into myths perpetrated by others. on topic, these people are right. i think its bad luck to bet on your team whether its a coke or a buck. play the total if anything since you can still root for your team regardless since the winner doesnt matter. that being said, play the under 53' and have a nice cold beer and enjoy the game. im doing my degenerate gambler podcast as we speak.
Im just saying I wouldnt do it. When it gets to putting thousands of dollars on a sporting event its a little much.
so just say you wouldnt because you know nothing about it.... or futures. any fool can blow his money and soon will.
