Not Lee Corso or anything but, not so fast my friend. :yelwink2:

Combined, the SEC and Texas lead the way with players in the NFL. However the state currently with the most players in the NFL is .................California with 199, 20 more then Florida with 179. Pretty interesting article. Breaks things down by high school as well.

I do agree that when this tally is revisited in 5 and 10 years, the numbers will have changed somewhat except that Cali will still be on top :hihi: and the Big 10's numbers will have decreased.......JoePa?

As a last point, the list looks quite different when you look at college rep in the NFL.

Good link vball, LA is #6 with 76 players on NFL rosters and St. Augustine has the most in LA with 4 players. New Orleans is ranked 6th with 14 players in the NFL.

However, LA is #1 in NFL players throughout history per capita. I need lsutiga's help with that link. :laflagwav

I'll have to dig more later but this article is interesting and written before the guy over in bama became satan. He seems to indicate that LA was 5th alltime in NFL players but to be fair, it doesn't state if it's per capita or not.

I did read that Mississippi actually had the alltime NFL player record per capita but I'm not confident of the source so I won't stand by it.

Not sure where this article gets its info from, but per capita, Louisiana has a comfortable lead. More than 2.5 timea as many as California :thumb:

I had posted this in the Pro Sports Forum but since many don't visit it, thought this could shed some light on what the Big 10 is up against with the SEC.

It shows where NFL players went to High School and not necessarily where they played ball but an idea of where the athletes come from.

The article does state that it came from a student writer at UGA. Legit? I'll go with it since I have nothing better but Miss. seems conspicuously absent.

LA is obviously a football talent rich state. :thumb:

That said, want to put down some money I could beat your behind on the hoop court? :hihi: I ain't no shorty now.
