You have to consider they were playing the sport a decade before any other major conference.

The Pac-10 has over 80 NCs in sports like men's rowing, women's rowing, men's soccer, men's volleyball, men's gymnastics, men's water polo, and women's water polo. Other major conference's don't play these sports.

Fair enough. I realize it was geared towards football, I just have an appreciation for any NCAA Athlete- even Cheerleading is much more rigorous than people realize and even the "Minor" sports are important to the parents of the kids on the gymnastics teams, etc. :thumb:

I have no idea how water polo is played, that would be interesting to see. :hihi:

If I ran the Big 10, and if I was looking to expand by one more team (to 12, bizarrely), with an eye on TV ratings and expansion of market, I'd look to Rutgers first. Then Syracuse.

Then I'd look at Kentucky. It's a natural expansion since Lexington is not that far from Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Lexington isn't a HUGE market, but it's significant. This would be bad for the SEC if it were to happen though.

Did you even look at the link? Rowing isn't even a sport under NC consideration......for men or women.

Last I checked, LSU competed in volleyball and gymnastics so what's the issue there?

On the East Coast they play LaX, in the West it's Water Polo. Why not lobby for a NC in tailgating and then the score might even up (sarcasm, people). Water polo is a brutal sport. Try watching the action under water sometime.

Seriously if you look at the bulk of sports being played, the SEC has won NC's in pretty much the same ones as the Pac. Removing what you might consider "minor" sports does nothing to change the overall output.
