What do you think is the biggest surprise of the year so far for LSU? I would go with...

    1. Tyson Jackson. He's been dominatating from his end position.

    2. The lack of a running game. I really thought we would have things sorted out by now.

    3. The Defense. Of course we all knew that LSU was very athletic, but what surprises me is how well coached they are. I think this years D is better than 03s! Nick Who?

    4. Kind of a stretch, but I would say the absence of big plays on special teams.

Excellent post. Agree as to 1,2 and 4. Given last year I felt the defense would be good. I might add Johnathon Zenon to that list. He's proving himself to be a very good corner.

I concur with the excellent post expressed earlier. :thumb:

I might order them a little differently and I would insert Beckwith in lieu of Jackson.

    1. Lack of runnning game (RBs and line)
    2. Beckwith
    3. Special teams not playing as well as it should
    4. Another game at Auburn decided by refs
    5. Alley Broussard's weight and ineffectiveness
    6. WRs coming through

The light just came on. I can't believe no one has mentioned JR's exceptional play. Duh.... a no brainer.

The defense of the National Championship year was the best defense in LSU history. This one is great, but look at that roster from 03 on D, how many play on NFL teams now..Many are starters.
Just amazing which why I will say to my grave, USC would have lost to LSU, they would have had 150 yard total offense at best, that defense was amazing.

I hear you, but personally, I'm not surprised by it. You could see it coming after last year.

The funny thing about the defense is that Laron Landry's name is seldom mentioned as much because our d-Line and LB's are absolutely blowing up opponents every freaking down. Beckwith has basically reduced the need for Laron to make every tackle like he used to. Did anyone see Dorsey bullrush the center and guard backwards about 15 feet by himself and come within inches of sacking Conner in last week's game? When things like that are going on in the front 7 no wonder we're dominating.
