'97 Florida for me as well. Too many are picking us to win for this to be considered a major upset. It will be a minor upset at best.
I think the win over USC in the 1979 opener was the greatest upset ever...oh, that's right, we "lost" thanks to a phantom call on part of the refs.
We're a 4 seed (~16 overall) they're a 1 seed (1 overall)....this is by no means the biggest upset in LSU history. People are hyping this b/c it's Duke. If Villanova was the #1 overall seed, this thread wouldn't exist
The '86 basketball win over Kentucky. Still remember Blanton pumpin' those fists. Agree with others on the '97 football win over Florida. Maybe not exactly an upset, although many considered it so, was the come back win over Stanford in the '00 CWS.
I'd have to say the games LSU won in the NCAA tourney in 1986. Anytime your that low a seed and knock off the seeds that LSU did it's incredible.
Let's put it this way, it would possibly be one of the greatest upsets in LSU basketball history, but not the biggest upset in LSU(sports) history.
that would be HUGE. but the disparity between lsu and duke in the 2 sports we are talking about is much greater on the gridiron than on the hardwood
