Go to the website now, apparently they came to terms on the price for the billboard and they said it should be up in a few weeks.

The thing is, EVERYONE in the country knows how loyal LSU fans are. We fill our stadium and yell at the top of our lungs for hours on end (and I'm not even going to mention the pregame celebrations.) They know how fervent we are of our love for our Tigers... when we win a NATIONAL TITLE that love is more intense than anything in college (or professional) sports. When our team has one of the BEST TEAMS IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY, we win a title and then someone denies it--well you have a bunch of red-hot cajuns on your hands... I want to see USC try and infiltrate BR with propaganda... like as was mentioned before, they'd better be careful....verrrrry careful.

If Lamar puts up the sign, it would be really bad news for a while (business-wise) but they're still one of the leaders in advertising in the area... We wouldn't have a choice but to continue using them. I think that would be a lowdown thing for them to do... isn't the owner or founder of Lamar an LSU grad? Shameful, really.

EDIT: I can just see the pitchforks and flamethrowers on the lawn of their headquarters on Corporate Boulevard....

Another EDIT: Looks as if Kevin Reilly has an HONORARY degree from LSU... close enough http://http://www.lsu.edu/lsutoday/020607/pagetwo.html

"This will all end in tears, or at least the sight of a flaming billboard and airboats and jacked-up trucks on lift kits fleeing a scene of mayhem in downtown Baton Rouge. Is it really that great an idea to taunt a Cajun? We know a few, and they’re the kind of people who build separate houses away from the main home on their property designed specifically for “drinking and smoking meat.” The same Cajun told us stories of how her daddy used to catch those mutant thirty pound catfish and nail them to trees to clean them. “They make a screaming noise when you do that to ‘em,” she said. They hunt alligators and play the accordion without irony. Hard people, man. Hard. Haven’t they listened to Warrant’s “Uncle Tom’s Cabin?” You know who put the bodies in the wishing well? A badass Cajun, that’s who. Again, we say this ends in tears and Heismanpundit calling us in fear for his life running pantsless down a misty, nameless road just north of Lafayette."

Speaking of Lamar... There is an empty Lamar billboard on the corner of College and Perkins right between that Walgreens and Great Wall...

Could that be the alleged billboard?

Local businesses have many other options for advertising in this city then Lamar and they will probably start using these other forms if Lamar throws up for billboard pimping USC.
