I'd love to have a private, off-the-record talk with Billy Cannon, Les Miles, Gary Crowton, the guys on the LSU team, and let them tell me what they felt about RP. I believe I'd hear a lot more positive things about him as a good person than I hear from the court of public opinion.

not sure it is a positive/negative thing. he did what he did. if they condone those things their opinion may be more positive.

I agree with you that he did what he did. But I also think the court of public opinion did what it did. I also think the same thing of the powers-that-be (Alleva? the LSU student newspaper? somebody's grandmother?) that decided it was prudent to kick RP off the LSU team -- dealing him a bigger, crushing blow than I feel RP ever gave to anyone else, including the society we live in (that is, I really don't feel RP was that big of a menace to society -- now Cecil Collins, yes, when we kicked him off the team I was on the same side as you 100%-anti-RP people, but I honestly don't think RP is a Cecil Collins).

he was given 24607864780162 second chances, and blew every one of them. he's gone. you are free to get over him now.

Well, Miles isn't the boss, he answers to the AD (Alleva), and the AD answers to the LSU Chancellor, and the LSU Chancellor answers to the LSU Board of Directors (at least thats my guess off the top of my head).

As for the cocaine, yeah, that kinda sucks, same think with him drinking, going to bars, going to casinos, hanging out with strippers, knocking up girls, having a loose and easy sex life, missing classes, missing team meetings, missing work-outs, missing practices, missing football games, telling his coaches and fellow teammates that he doesn't have to do anything with the team until he is the starter, setting up international crime organizations, battling the FBI like Al Capone, buying guns, pulling guns on people, robbing liquor stores, robbing banks, trying to assassinate the US President, pledging all his future NFL millions to Al Quada, dealing drugs, etc.

All of that would fry the brain of a typical American. Trust me, I feel you people.

Nut, you have children. Let's say they went to LSU and got kicked out of LSU for the same things RP did... I'd be sticking up for your kids just as strong as I stick up for RP.

I know, I know, your kids will never turn out like RP. But hypothetically, if it did go down like that, I'd be sticking up just the same for your kids to not be kicked out of LSU.
