    If it seizes and tries to spin, it could kill the whole system, not just the belt. ACs are pretty simple. As long as the system is discharged.

    With a press it isn’t that bad. The hardest part is not tearing up the ABS and dust shield for the brakes.

    am i the only one with a brake dust shield and abs? Maybe that’s why it’s $700

    ETA: the first post was a little bit in jest. This one I’m wondering if those parts aren’t standard on most 4WDs

    I meant the press. My 4wd quit working years ago, never fixed it.

    A good while back, I bought an S10 Blazer 4wd. I got a good deal on it because the four-wheel-drive was not working. Turned out it was a vacuum switch.

    I always just use an air hammer with a fork attachment. Pops them right out.

    That’s on the list of things to buy. Along with a compressor to run it.
