I have no problem with Pelini and said let's see what happens in 2 weeks and then we'll decide. But then people started calling everyone who criticizes stupid.

Yes, coaches know more than us, I agree. But just like in life, there are good coaches, bad coaches. Good teachers and bad teachers etc. Those average or bad coaches are fired and rehired everyday. Just because he's here and was hired doesn't make him Vince Lombardi and untouchable and just because Arizona St. put up 600 yards on us doesn't mean they are the next National Champs.

IMO, ASU has a good little team with some pretty good skill players. They will get drilled, or beaten 3 or 4 times this year. I hear people saying how many NFL players there are on that team and how impressed they were.

I wasn't necessarily impressed. I was surprised at the lack of competition we put up on defense. We allowed that crap to happen.

That's funny because I saw Keller thread the needle between 2 & 3 defenders on several occasions. I also saw our defender get a hand on the ball, only to have it deflected into an ASU receiver's hands. I saw ASU receivers making remarkable receptions with LSU shirts all over them. The other team wants to win too. Scoreboard! Take the win and quit acting like the bad man stole you candy.

Bo Pelini is right, most people don't know what they're talking about. The people who are upset over this are the dumb-asses he's referring to :D

I'll say this, Bo Pellini didn't quite use the fan-friendly speech but his message was correct. None of us are at practice everyday, watching film, know the mindset and capabilities of players, know what formations or schemes are called...we know NONE of that. All any of us can judge by is what we see for a couple of hours on Saturdays. So trying to equate Bo Pellini with Lou Tepper is assinine. That would be like me going to court for an hour or two and calling the lawyers idiots or morons. So Pellini is correct none of us know. And oh by the way...for the fourth time this week, LSU WON THE GAME! And it was the defense that came up with the stop it needed in order to preserve the win.

Can BP call people stupid if they type day view instead of debut? What about the use of the word quieten ? Don't claim to know defense when you don't even know English. :hihi:

So, if we're to take your logic at face value, no Div I fan anywhere can ever question any Div I coach.

Do you use this logic elsewhere? I mean, o high and mighty, do you ever question why it's taking so long to get waited on at a place of business? Ever get steamed because the cable guy is taking longer than you think is reasonable to finish your installation, et cetera, et cetera.

Because, unless you're talking about something that you yourself are an expert in, at a level above and beyond say 99% of the population at large (it's safe to say that Div 1 coaches comprise far less than 1% of the population in this country), then you yourself are doing exactly what you accuse others of doing with Pelini and LSU football.

Oh, wait...did I make you stop and think? Musta hurt from lack of practice, eh?

Then go be an SLU fan or something, go cheer for a school's teams where winning is the exception and not the norm.

Personally, I think fans that don't expect excellence from an athletic department geared from top to bottom to achieve excellence (err, maybe not in men's basketball, but I digress) are guilty of spewing "crap that's getting old", IMO.

With great expectations (on part of the AD, the players and the coaches) come, well, great expectations (on part of the fans).

I may not know as much about football as Bo Pelini, but I could sure whip your ass cold in that department.

So, genius, what's your take on this situation? Sure is easy to shout down someone who voices an opinion when your too busy hiding in the cheap seats, pelting me with tomatoes, to voice your own.

    I'll give you 2 choices:

    1. Jump off a building.

    2. Get a life.

If we lost the game everyone in here would be complaining about Bo. The fact that we won (which involved a good bit of luck) some of you think we can't compain. Also some of you say we shouldn't complain b/c it is the 1st game in a new system against a good school, plus we can't complain b/c we don't know football as well as Bo Pelini.

I say BS. No I don't know D as well as Bo and no I don't know if the players played the zone like Bo wanted. But I can call what I saw in the defense and say it was bad. Now whether it was the players fault or Bo's it is hard to say.

But I do know that Bo's record as someone generously posted speaks for itself and it is not a wonderful record.

Nebraska had a high ranking defense when he was their but consider the Big 12 north that year and it is not that impressive.

Sure he went to the NC game with OU as a co-coordinator and d-back coach, but his defense backs were lit up the whole game. Not too mention his secondary gave up big yardage all year in the Big 12 and that year the Big 12 was considerably weaker than what LSU will see this season.

With that said, from the pattern of performance at OU and Neb and now the 1st game against ASU, it is somewhat apparent that the pattern could potentially continue for our defense. Bo's defense at these schools especially OU was not a shut down defense but similar to what we saw against ASU but not as extreme in typical games. But the weakness of his type of defense gets exploited under a high octane passing offense. We have seen that against USC and ASU. Just pointing out the pattern of his defense and its faults. I'm not saying I'm smarter than Bo concerning defense but it is quite alright to point flaws in a system if it is obvious. And I belileve the flaws are quite obvious.
