1. Yeah, I am not sure what the best way to decide it is. I think that logically speaking, UGA looks like they have the strongest case. But not by much.

But deciding how to decide it is not something you do midstream. They had a system and they changed it in the middle of the season. That sucks. Change it after the season. The changes that they made seem to be doing more harm than good. Now the SEC may only have 1 team in the BCS.

Write the SEC and complain about how this is being handled!!!
  2. If you haven't noticed, I don't post on every topic on this board...

I didn't like it at the time and I don't like it now. It was a back-room sneaky way to avoid back-room sneakiness (voting ADs).
  3. The rule before the change came down to the SEC schools deciding... the same SEC schools that unanimously approved the rule change. Therefore, we are, in a way, following the old rule, right? (My brain hurts).
  4. No problem tigermark ... I guess all this can be avoided if we whip Arkansas and Kentucky beats Tennessee!
  5. Yeah, I guess you have a point there, but it still sucks.

  6. GO WILDCATS!!! :)
  7. You do have a point...

But I'll bet that they were all hoping that it would be decided by play within the SEC before the application of the rule would become necessary.

Because of the rule, Florida and Georgia will now have to prove their worth against non-conference ACC opponents and bitter in-state rivals. It gives both Georgia Tech and Florida State just more incentive to knock-off their in-state rivals.

Zook has yet to beat Miami or FSU...Talk about pressure..!!

Georgia beat GT 51-7 last year...Talk about the desire for payback..!!
  8. Most people are forgetting one major thing with the SEC Championship Game... It is for the SEC Championship... Why the hell would a team not want a chance to play for that.
  9. One would think that it would be the primary goal of any team within the SEC.
  10. I never liked the change, and I objected. It's silly to decide a conference race by what, essentially, comes down to non-conference games. Florida loses to Florida State, they're out. Tennessee loses to Miami, they're out. Georgia loses to Georgia Tech, they're out. It's about the opportunity to play for a CONFERENCE championship. Non-conference games should have no bearing on it! Total wins and losses should have no bearing on it. The teams don't play the same out of conference foes, so it is, inherintly, unfair. To me, the only FAIR way to do it is to draw straws (or some such random lottery type deal) to determine who goes. Whichever team's name gets pulled out of the hat would represent the East. Each team has an equal 33.3% chance. It would involve luck, but no one could complain.
