Dude, you just named three of the best players in the league (freaking Pro Bowlers) and a future Pro Bowler. I think you proved his point that they are indeed a fairly rare commodity at the college level.
I think the signing of Kyle Anderson is indeed lost among the hubbub about Bennett. I've heard good things in this area about this kid, and he could develop into a very solid 4 year player.
My my, what short selective memories some have. As soon as I heard Burton say this, I knew the Brady Bashers would be out in full force. It seems that no one remembers that several other players, (Marcus Spears, Michael Clayton, Ben McDonald, Chris Carrier to name a few) also were good BB players and were also going to play BB at LSU-but never did, even though they tried. I doubt seriously that Brady dissuaded Bennett or did not try to recruit him. If he did, then he was cutting his own throat and he is not that stupid, in spite of what some might think. More likely than not, he was just being honest with the kid, realizing that it is almost impossible to play both sports. I can think of only one college player whose pulled it off, Matt Jones at Ark. and he wasn't all that successful. We all know what kind of snake Franchione is and he and the bb coach at A&M probably filled the kids ears with whatever he wanted to hear. When the whole deal is over and done, I'll be real surprised if the kid ever makes it on the bb court for any significant time. Instead of condemning Brady, we should be glad we have a coach with good character. He may have some shortcomings, but lack of character and honesty are not among them. geaux tige  geaux tige  geaux tige  geaux tige
Yea, because basketball recruiting always takes place during the season, right? :dis: If it's true that Duke was interested in him, I find it hard to believe WE would turn our noses up to him!
