Young kids with NFL aspirations will value a coach with NFL experience. I think this is one thing that bodes well for Saban, kids see that he knows what it takes for them to make it to the NFL and he can develope them for when that time comes,

Thats like saying you don't want to hire Norv Turner to run your
offense because of the Redskin fiasco.

Nick Knows what he's doing and I'm more excited just watching
    him do his thing:D

We will see how excited everyone is a year or two from now when
the LSU offense is setting new records offensively.

I think it can happen, it might take until the 1st game next season
or it may take the 1st game after next season.

It will happen like Ro and the boys did a few years back.

    1 more thing.....

Norv Turner is now the coach of the Oakland Raiders...

this is funny if We had Bobby Williams when KW2 was coming out of high school he could be a LSU Tiger. I bet his I'm a soldier speech would've earned a Saban foot in his ass.

    this is kind of funny

when Saban left MSU...many MSU fans said that they had the better coach in Bobby Williams.

well, 4 years later....bobby williams had been fired, Nick Saban won a national title, and now the coach they bragged about...is now our WR coach.

There are alot of good position coaches who don't make it as a head coach ... apples and oranges.

Saban hired Williams at MSU. Apparantly, the players liked him enough to go to bat for him when Saban left. Sort of like the Archer hire.

Williams brings alot of good coaching experience...

    Why WILLIAMS

Living in Jackson MI. just 20 min. south of MSU's campus I can tell you people were glad to see him leave. Most people around here could not believe when the Lions hired him. I sure hope Saban knows what he's doing with this. He did not leave the Lions to take this job, the Lions let him go after the season was over

From what I read on Spartans boards today, seems they are worried about Williams taking recruits from the Detroit area.

He did not coach WR's at Mich State !

he coached running backs at MSU for the 10 years before he succeeded Saban. he was WR coach with the Lions.

Think Saban is grooming him to replace Jimbo if and when he takes a head coach job? If so, its pretty good to have somebody learn the system before jumping right in.

    Yes, this could be it.

CNS is going to develop coaches as well as players. He obviously must think that CBW has what it takes to be a future OC. CNS must be anticipating the possibility that LSU's OC and DC might leave for HC jobs elsewhere.

Whom is being groomed for future DC? I hope that it's Coach Dooley.
