Re: Oil Rig Explosion in Gulf

Sorry for the loss of your family member, MM.

I called my dad when I heard this morning and thankfully he answered the phone. He doesn't work on the rigs, but sometimes he's out there putting out fires (pardon the expression).

I will pray for those involved.

No it's Obama's fault because he said they were going to expand drilling which means the rig that exploded would be facing new competition, the workers were obviously scared that the socialist nazi, communist kenyan's plan would have them out of a job, so they weren't paying enough attention to their work.

KATC.com here in Lafayette reporting that all missing are not accounted for.

Thanks LaSalle... I knew I could count on you to clearly explain things.. Unfortunately, my post just isn't as funny now that it got merged from FSA to here.

Back to the topic though, I hope they manage to find everyone.

    Re: Oil Rig explosion?

My bro-in-law was one of the six BP employees and got out there a couple of days ago. He had to leave his cell phone but got a call to my sister last might and let us know he was alright. Everyone has not been found, 9 transocean and 2 contractors are missing I believe.

The boats should back this evening so hopefully will know more tonight. The news is saying a blowout, but they were doing some pretty routine stuff, and BP is very strict on safety, so I can't imagine how they let it get away from them.

    Re: Oil Rig explosion?

As of 6:00pm, there are still missing workers and the catering crew may still be lost at sea. The catering company is ART catering out of Belle Chasse...a company, I worked for several years. I'm trying to find out if anyone I know is still missing. The personnel turnover is pretty high so I'm pretty sure I don't know anyone involved.

What gets me is that there is a lot of confusion that shouldn't be. There is a list of the people on board and the survivors should all be accounted for...so why are the families and friends still in the dark?

    Re: Oil Rig explosion?

Channel six just reported that all of ART's employees are accounted for. Two were treated at West Jeff Hospital and released... Still waiting to see if people are still missing.
