Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill And don't let Nick Saban in our state. BP exec acknowledges public frustration over spill - Yahoo! News Ok, i am calling bull**** on BP. BP Beyond Principles, has been lying through their teeth from the get. How many of you think that the only reason this leak hasn't been fixed, is because they are trying to find a way to solve this problem and still milk that well for profits? Our coastline suffers while these bastards try and find a way to make a dollar off of it.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill lets see, the best way to study how to know what works so we are better suited, is to do things and see what works this time. in other words, "donate" money for cleaning up their own damned mess and calling it "research" for pr purposes. how convenient.:rolleye33:

Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Well unfortunately this is obvious. Previous attempts to control the leak have all involved methods of siphoning oil to a tanker on the surface. Not until such methods all failed have they opted for one that completely stops the leak.

Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill I am increasingly of the opinion, especially after talking to folks who know E&P, that all this stopping the leak talk is for show. None of these methods have a chance to work. It is all about the appearence. The only thing that has a chance to work is relief well.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Heard a radio interview with a BP rep this morning on my drive in. He said (paraphrasing) "we have a number of other methods to try after we try the top kill". Accidentally indicating what you believe to be the case. It really is a simple matter of mother nature winning out. They go through all sorts of precise methods in drilling the well. A constant battle of pressures and procedures to keep everything in check. This in a very controlled environment. I can't imagine it being anything short of a miracle for them to win out against all of Mother Nature's fury now that it has been accidentally released. It is disheartening to realize this yet at the same time have them attempt to give everyone (a false sense of) hope. I also fully expect this to be an issue until relief wells are drilled. If not much much later.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Is anyone else starting to smell the fumes? I swear, if the wind is blowing a certain direction, I can smell it. When it gets closer and if it does invade inland, what kind of impact will that have on the health of my kids if they have to breathe in those fumes everyday for 20 years or however long it takes to clean up?
